JAZZ AFTER SUNSET BRINGS TWO EXCEPTIONAL AUSTRALIAN MUSICIANS TO EUDLO

Music lovers are in for a memorable evening when Jazz After Sunset brings together the Stefano Rocco Quartet and the Shenzo Gregorio Band at Eudlo Hall on Saturday, November 14 at 6:30pm.

Featuring two of Australia’s most creative and accomplished contemporary musicians, the evening promises an exciting blend of jazz, world music, improvisation, cinematic soundscapes and virtuosic performance.

STEFANO ROCCO QUARTET
Italian-born, Sydney-based guitarist and composer Stefano Rocco leads a dynamic quartet whose music blends jazz, Latin influences and post-bop grooves with a cinematic, story-driven approach.
Drawing inspiration from artists such as Pat Metheny, Rocco’s compositions combine lyrical melodies, dynamic rhythms and spacious soundscapes, taking audiences on an emotional journey through shifting moods and landscapes.

The quartet — Stefano Rocco (guitar), Nick Southcott (piano), Winston Weng (double bass) and Nate Griffin (drums) — will perform music from their acclaimed 2025 album Wildlife.
Described by The Australian as “very impressive” with “faultless sound balance”, Wildlife was also hailed by All About Jazz as “crisp and audacious… a sparkling gem of an album.”
The quartet has performed extensively throughout Australia and internationally, with Rocco’s original compositions forming the heart of their distinctive sound.

SHENZO GREGORIO BAND
Joining them is acclaimed violinist, multi-instrumentalist, composer and musical director Shenzo Gregorio, performing with a stellar group of Brisbane musicians.

Classically trained from the age of three, Shenzo has forged an extraordinary career crossing the worlds of jazz, classical, flamenco, world music and contemporary performance. He has performed throughout Australia and internationally, including at New York’s Carnegie Hall and the Montreux Jazz Festival.
A member of the acclaimed FourPlay String Quartet and former member of two-time ARIA Award-winning world music group Monsieur Camembert, Shenzo has also worked with Opera Australia, major festivals and theatre companies. In 2018 he performed as a soloist at the Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra.
Known for his adventurous approach to music, Shenzo has composed and directed for theatre, opera and large-scale productions, and created the spectacular Shenzo’s Electric Stunt Orchestra, a world-first performance featuring musicians suspended in the air and performing while flying around the venue.

For Jazz After Sunset, Shenzo will perform a collection of iconic violin classics, soundscaping and original compositions, bringing his distinctive improvisational style to the Eudlo stage.

AN EVENING OF MUSICAL DISCOVERY
Together, these two acts offer contrasting yet complementary musical experiences — from Stefano Rocco’s cinematic jazz and immersive soundscapes to Shenzo Gregorio’s virtuosic violin, world influences and fearless improvisation.
An intimate evening of exceptional live music, Jazz After Sunset promises to transport audiences and showcase the extraordinary depth and creativity of Australia’s contemporary jazz scene.
