Nambour, QLD  – The Jazz Sessions at The Presynct continues to deliver standout performances, and this month, they welcome a true global talent to the stage.  The June Garber Quintet presents a programme of vocal jazz that explores the emotional breadth of the genre, from intimate torch songs to energetic swing. Supported by an outstanding ensemble, June Garber performs a selection of well-known standards alongside lesser-known repertoire, each chosen for its expressive depth and musical character.

With a career that spans over four decades, Garber brings unmatched emotional depth and elegance to every note.  Acclaimed for her warm, effusive vocal style, June has performed across Canada, the U.S., the Caribbean, Cuba, Mexico, South Africa and now Australia — gracing festivals, clubs, big bands and intimate venues with her remarkable voice and stagecraft.

Joined by a stellar local quartet — Denis Feletto (keys), Brendan Scully (bass), Trent Bryson-Dean (drums), and Phil Hayter (saxophone) — June will deliver a program that spans generations of jazz, from well-loved standards to rarely heard treasures. 

June Garber’s jazz journey began in Toronto, Canada, after years of performing contemporary music and acting with major theatre companies.  She has recorded four acclaimed albums: Smile (2005), Here’s to You (2008), This I Know (2016), and Off the Carousel (2021).  Her performances are known for their authenticity, emotional storytelling, and the seamless blend of vocal mastery and stage presence honed during her theatrical career.

Now calling the Sunshine Coast home, June has quickly become a sought-after performer in the local jazz scene, appearing at clubs and festivals in Brisbane, Noosa and beyond.
