DESCRIPTION:Tickets: $19 – $45 \nJune Garber presents Jazz Across the Ages \nJune Garber\, an acclaimed and much-loved Canadian jazz vocalist who is now living on the Sunshine Coast\, will present a program of both well-known and rarely heard jazz songs from across the ages. \n“Garber has always been known for her warm\, effusive vocal style but now her voice has another layer of burnishing that adds even greater depth. This is how jazz is sung.” – Shelly Gummeson – Earshot Magazine \nJune will be joined by Denis Feletto (keys)\, Brendan Scully (bass) and Phil Hayter (sax). Arriving in Canada from her native South Africa in 1975\, June soon had her own 8-piece band\, self-producing shows that were primarily contemporary with long engagements in Las Vegas\, Atlantic City and Toronto\, as well as performing in cities across Canada and the U.S. Following several years as a stage actor\, June began to sing jazz in 2003. She has recorded four albums\, Smile (2005)\, Here’s to You (2008)\, This I Know (2016) and Off the Carousel (2021). \nSince arriving in Australia in 2022\, June has performed at jazz clubs and jazz festivals in Brisbane and Noosa Heads\, and at several venues on the Sunshine Coast. \nThe Presynct\, upstairs – 15 Ann St\, Nambour \nDoors open 6:00pm\nShow starts 7:00pm to 9:30pm \nMeat and cheese platters available in venue.\nThere is no other food available from the venue but you are welcome to purchase dinner elsewhere and bring it in to eat in the venue. \nParking available behind the venue. \nClick here to purchase tickets.
